Abstract

Minas Gerais altered the state health plan in the direction of investment services in order to improve the direct care to the population from the increase autonomy of micro-regions pole. Thus, this study was to analyze the efficiency indicators of the health of micro-regions in the years of 2002-2010. For this, we used the technique of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) through the Malmquist index, which allows us to evaluate the evolution of technical efficiency of production services. The Malmquist shows that there is a reduction in Total Factor Productivity (TFP) in Minas Gerais. In conclusion, it confirms the importance of state action to improve the technological standard of health care, but we emphasize the importance of monitoring system to follow the technical standards of the micro-regions.
